  • Candidates who have the 3rd Division in their Bachelor degree may only be eligible for the test when he or she has achieved the Higher Division within the Master Degree.

  • The minimum age for candidates who are applying for the CSS Exam is 21 to 30 years old.
  • The limit on age is relaxed to the equivalent of two years (making 32 years the max age) for candidates currently working as government employees or a member of recognized tribes and regions. The requirements for age relaxation are listed at the bottom of the webpage.

This relaxation in age will be granted to the applicant upon the basis of a Departmental Permission Certificate.   1. The written test consists of twelve (12) papers. Of which, six (6) are compulsory while the other six (6) are optional papers. Each paper has 100 marks.
  2. The written test is 1200 marks. From that 600 marks are reserved for mandatory papers while 600 marks are allocated to optional papers.
  3. The maximum time allowed for each paper is 3 hours.
  4. Every paper contains Part I (Objective portion) as well as Part II (Subjective portion). Part-I is written on a separate page that was returned after 30 minutes.
  5. The minimum marks required for the paper that is compulsory are 40%, while the optional paper it’s 33%.

  3. Print and send the hard copy of the online form together with copies of the documents as well as a bank receipt to the FPSC headquarters in Islamabad.
  4. The complete application must be received by FPSC headquarters, Islamabad within 10 days of the date of closing.
