The Government Of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Elementary and Secondary Education Department has released New School timings For KP From January 2023 without any extension in winter vacations.
For the benefit of all, the Official Notification of Revised School Timings resulting from foggy & severe weather in the Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between 02-01-2023 and 31-01-2023 has been shared.
Due to the fog in the province, school timings were rescheduled from 02/01/2023 – 31/01/2023.
- Primary Schools: 09,15 AM to 01:30 PM
- Middle/Higher Secondary Schools: 09.00 AM to 02:30 PM
This arrangement was made in the best interests of students.
KP Govt does not extend winter vacations as Punjab. Winter vacations in Punjab are extended until 8 January 2023 because of fog and cold weather.

These days, the weather is foggy and cold throughout the country. In different parts of Pakistan, winter vacations are continuing. The schools and colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are still open. The Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Govt didn’t grant an extension for winter vacations at schools or colleges. The federal government granted winter holidays from 2022-23 to Federal schools and colleges.
KPK Education Department makes a decision due to the lack of studies over the last 2 years. The schools are open in cold weather to make up for the gap. The Punjab Government, on the other hand, is taking action against schools that do not observe winter holidays in schools and colleges.
School Timings at KPK
In January, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experiences cold and foggy conditions. It is foggy and cold in the morning. Foggy weather can cause traffic jams and slow down traffic flow. Fog can also cause many accidents. It is therefore difficult for students and staff members to get to school on time.
