HEC Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2023-24 for Pakistani students is Announced. As we know, Pakistan has a long-standing and Strong relationship with China. The long-standing relations between China and Pakistan have proven mutually positive. They always work for the mutual betterment of countries Pak and China.

To increase Educational cooperation between these two countries Chinese Scholarship Council, and the Govt. of China had take a big step. They are offering a Scholarship for Pakistani students and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese Universities.

On behalf of Govt. of Pakistan, HEC is nominating the agency for these scholarships in the academic year 2023-24. Qualified applicants can apply for scholarships for Undergraduate/bachelor, Master & Doctoral/Ph.D. programs and in other fields also.

The deadline for applying is the 15th of December in 2022. To check the deadline and submit an online application for the HAT test (Masters & Ph.D.) and USAT test (Undergraduate), please visit https://etc.hec.gov.pk/ if you have already a valid HAT or USAT score after January 01, 2022, you may submit the score on HEC portal during application submission. Program Offered In Chinese Government Scholarship Program

Chinese Government Scholarship Program sponsors international teachers, students, and scholars to pursue degrees (Undergraduate Master’s, Master’s, and Ph.D.) which include preparatory Chinese language study for one year in certain degree programs.

The preparation Chinese study year for Chinese is required for Undergraduate programs, however, it is possible to waive this requirement in the case of a candidate already obtained Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 (validity time 2 years).

Eligibility Criteria For HEC Chinese Government Scholarship Program

  1. Candidates must be Pakistani/AJ&K citizens. Dual nationals aren’t allowed to apply.
  2. The applicant must be healthy.
  3. Candidates who have not received their degrees before the deadline are not eligible to apply.
  4. Applicants for the Undergraduate/Bachelors program must have intermediate/A-level/FA-FSC (12 years) of education and be under the age of 25 at the time of application.
  5. Candidates for the Masters program must hold an undergraduate degree (16 years old) and be less than 35 years old when they submit their application.
  6. The applicants for Ph.D./Doctoral programs require a Masters degree in MS/MPhil (17/18-year-olds) and must be under the age of 40 in the year of applying.
  7. You must meet the requirements for application in accordance with the requirements according to the China Scholarship Council website & portal.
  8. Meet the requirements for admission to the applying universities with regard to academic qualifications, language proficiency, and other pertinent criteria.
  9. The applicant must not be currently receiving other kinds of scholarships in the present.
  10. All applicants must submit the HAT test or USAT test scores. Applicant must be able to show an average score of 50 out of 100 on either the HAT exam and/or the USAT test. Candidates who took the HAT test or USAT test prior to or on January 01, 2022, are able to upload their test results on the HEC portal to be considered.
  11. If applicants do not provide a minimum HAT and USAT exam score (50 out 100) the application is not taken into consideration for further processing. Those interested applicants who are yet to take the HAT or USAT test may register for the same by visiting https://etc.hec.gov.pk/

Financial Coverage

Tuition Funds: The tuition funds will be fully used by the host institution. They may be used to fund expenses for administration, and education as well as health insurance costs and expenses for student activities.

Accommodation: Free university dormitories or accommodation subsidies for every student.

Stipend: As per China Govt. Scholarship Program.

Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month (Min)

Masters students: CNY 3,000 per month (Min)

Ph.D. students: CNY 3,500 per month (Min)

Travel Expenditure: The cost of travel would be paid by the winners of the scholarships themselves. HEC is not liable for financial liability

How To Apply for HEC Chinese Government Scholarship Program

The information in the online applications and the documents attached must be true, complete, and accurate.

  1. Apply online at: http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/ after registering and filling out your profile, please select “Learning Opportunities Abroad”. After you have submitted your application, print a version signed by the applicant. HEC Online application portal will end on December 15th, 2022 (23:59 pm Pakistan Time).
  2. Prior to applying, make sure you complete your HEC profile with the most current email or cell number and updated information. It is recommended to fill out and submit your application as quickly as possible because the application process online will be busy in the days prior to the deadline for applications. Once you have successfully submitted the application on the HEC portal, keep printed copies of the application form that have been completed by you.
  3. Submit an online application at the CSC web portal at http://www.campuschina.org/ or http://www.csc.edu.cn through program Type: A and Agency No.5861. Download the completed application form from the Chinese Scholarship Council portal, take a printout and keep the signed copy along with you.
  4.   5. Online applications submitted to CSC & HEC portal are obligatory. If there is no submission of the application form through one of the above portals no candidature will be considered.

Note: Hard copies of applications aren’t needed at this point. Applications that are not completed or saved by hand on the portal will not be considered in any manner.

Required Documents

Prospective applicants are not obliged to provide any documents (hard duplicates) for submission to HEC at this point in the application. Only those who have been shortlisted are required to submit this documentation either in English as well as Chinese.

If any other language, the document should be accompanied by an official translation notarized in English and Chinese. To avoid any issues in the future, prospective applicants should prepare an application form according to the following specifics:

  1. A copy of the completed application form from HEC with separate spiral binding. There is no other document that must be included with the HEC request form.
  2. A copy of the completed application form from the CSC application portal, along with the following document
  3. Affidavits of each academic documents, one photocopy of the CNIC/B-form, Domicile IBCC Equivalency certificate (if relevant), and HEC Equivalency, if applicable.
  4. An outline of your study or proposal for research (200 words to be used for bachelor 800 words in the case of Master and Ph.D.) and copies of research publications and accomplishments (Ph.D. only) Language proficiency certificate or score on IELTS/TOEFL/HSK (where relevant) and a copy of a current passport valid until March 1, 2024 (first two pages).
  5. The photocopy copy of the Physical Examination Record ( attached) for applicants from other countries must be filled out in English. (The original copy of the document should keep by the person applying for the visa.)
  6. The physical examinations should cover everything listed within the Physical Examination Record including basic tests for foreigners in accordance with China Government. policy.
  7. Criminal Record Non-Criminal (Police Clearance Certificate) not older than six months prior to the deadline for application.
  8. The forms that have incomplete documentation or that do not have an official signature from the physician attending the appointment and a medical stamp or photo of the applicant that has been sealed are ineligible. Choose the right moment to have a physical exam because the results are valid for only 6 months.
  9. Apply to the university of your choice for a pre-admission notice (optional) to apply for Masters and Ph.D. before submitting your online application if they have it.
  10. The HEC/CSC cannot ensure the enrollment of the university you wish to attend even if no pre-admission letter has been received through the application. Candidates who are seeking Master’s and Ph.D. with admissions documents will have a higher chance of winning Chinese Govt. Scholarships.
  11. If you are employed In the event of employment, no Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer is required.

  • Check that your email address phone number, email address, and postal address are correctly entered in the application system since they are crucial to getting you through the process of applying. Failure to reply to HEC or CSC promptly could result in an automatic rejection.
  • Send clear, authentic, and valid scans of all documents required for both portals. The applicants are responsible for the damages that result from non-identifiable or unclear uploaded documents.
  • In the event of providing incorrect information, at any point, HEC reserves the right to debar and cancel any future scholarships and also impose penalties according to the decision of HEC.
